Mountain Lodges of Nepal, Namche (Yeti Mountain Home)
The Namche lodge of a chain of upmarket trekking lodges on the Everest trail, formerly known as Yeti Mountain Home. Heated rooms, en-suite bathrooms with hot water, electric blankets and good linen at 3,440 m, with views of Kongde Ri and Thamserku.
Mountain Lodges of Nepal runs a chain of lodges on the trail from Lukla towards Everest, so trekkers can walk lodge to lodge with proper beds and bathrooms instead of plywood teahouse rooms. The Namche lodge, earlier branded Yeti Mountain Home, sits in the town with views across to Kongde Ri and Thamserku.
Rooms have en-suite bathrooms with hot running water, electric blankets and good linen, and there is a restaurant, a lounge and a library. It is a comfortable base for the two acclimatisation nights in Namche. Lodges in the chain cluster below about 3,900 m, so treks to Everest Base Camp still use regular teahouses higher up.
Why we use it
- Proper beds and hot showers at 3,440 m
- Lodge-to-lodge network along the trail
- Calm base for acclimatisation days
