Hotel Tibet
A long-established mid-range hotel near Paljor Stadium, a few minutes' walk from MG Marg, decorated in Tibetan style with painted woodwork and thangkas. A central, practical base for permits, day trips and evening walks.
Hotel Tibet stands on Paljor Stadium Road, just below the centre of Gangtok, and has been a fixture of the town for decades. Its public areas use traditional Tibetan decoration, with carved and painted woodwork, and some rooms look towards the Kangchenjunga range on clear days.
The location is the main draw: MG Marg, Lal Bazaar and the taxi stands are walkable, and the hotel can arrange permits and vehicles for Tsomgo and North Sikkim. Rooms are comfortable rather than luxurious. Ask for a room on the mountain side and confirm current rates directly.

Around the stay
Gangtok
Gangtok is Sikkim's capital, spread along a ridge at about 1,650 m above the Ranikhola valley. It has been the seat of government since 1894. Use it as the base for Tsomgo Lake, Nathu La and North Sikkim permits, and give it two days of its own for MG Marg, its monasteries and the Tibetology institute.
