Mid-range Guesthouse · Leh
Hotel Omasila, Leh
A long-running family hotel in Changspa, the quiet green lane below Shanti Stupa, with garden seating and a short walk to cafes. It suits travellers who want comfortable, simple rooms and calm acclimatisation days without the price of Leh's larger hotels.
Changspa is the part of Leh many travellers end up loving: willow-lined lanes, irrigation channels, barley plots between guesthouses, and Shanti Stupa at the top of the road. Hotel Omasila is one of the older family-run hotels here, with rooms around a garden and a restaurant, and it is a comfortable place to spend the first two days doing very little.
Rooms are mid-range Ladakhi style rather than luxury: attached bathrooms, hot water, warm bedding and a sunny garden. Main Bazaar is about 15–20 minutes on foot, gently downhill, or a short taxi ride back. Ask for a lower-floor room on arrival, and check opening months if you are travelling outside the main season.
