Aloha on the Ganges
A riverside hotel on the Badrinath road in Tapovan, near Lakshman Jhula, with rooms and apartments facing the Ganga, an outdoor pool, a spa and a restaurant. Our usual comfort pick in Rishikesh.
Aloha on the Ganges stands on the river side of the highway in Tapovan, run by Leisure Hotels, a group with several properties in Uttarakhand. Rooms and one- and two-bedroom apartments step down the bank towards the Ganga, and the outdoor pool and terraces look across to the forested far shore. A spa offers massages and ayurvedic treatments, and yoga sessions can be arranged.
The location works for walking to the Lakshman Jhula and Tapovan cafes and for early starts up the Badrinath road. As in all of Rishikesh, food is vegetarian and the town is alcohol-free. Ask for a river-facing room, and book early for March, October and long weekends, when Delhi visitors fill the town.
