Take a Sumo from Pasighat to Aalo, about 3–4 hours, then a Sumo from Aalo to Mechuka, which usually leaves early morning and takes 7–8 hours. Most travellers sleep a night in Aalo. Book Mechuka seats the day before.

A private SUV can cover the whole route in a long day, or split it at Aalo. Hire a driver who knows the Aalo–Mechuka road, which has rough sections and landslide zones. Many travellers book the car for the full trip there and back.
