From Kaza down the Spiti river to the Attargo bridge, then up the Pin river past Kungri gompa and Gulling to Mudh, the last village on the road. About 50 km and 2 hours into Pin Valley National Park.

A local bus usually leaves Kaza for Mudh in the afternoon and returns early the next morning. It is the cheapest way in and suits an overnight in a Mudh homestay. Timings change by season, so ask at the Kaza bus stand a day before.
A taxi lets you stop at Kungri gompa and the painted slopes and return the same day, but Mudh is best with a night. A one-way drop costs less and you can return on the morning bus. Book through the Kaza taxi union.
If you are coming from Tabo, a taxi can include Dhankar and continue to Mudh, avoiding a return to Kaza. This is a long day; start early and keep the Dhankar stop short.
